Interview over | application submitted

My interview went well, I think.  I understand that I will be offered a place on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course.  I am so excited at the prospect of learning in a formal environment with loads of creative people.  It is such an amazing opportunity to go back to studying a subject that I think I will find really fulfilling.  I have, obviously, sent off my UCAS application.  I should hear back from the college within a couple of weeks, and until I do I won't take anything for granted.  I am, however, going to start getting hold of some of the books that Matt recommended, practice drawing every day, and start putting together a budget for the things I will need to purchase.  I need to make sure that I don't spend more than my grant.

Ok | the next step is...

My "portfolio" was acceptable so I'm going in to meet the tutor on Monday. Have been doing lots of research and reading. I'm getting excited about potentially being a graphic design student. My application is just waiting for a reference now.

And so it begins | the application process

Today I heard from the tutor at FCOT that my portfolio was acceptable and I have been invited in to visit next Monday. I will start filling out my Ucas application today. Now I really have to be sure this is what I want and I've got the time to commit fully to it. I'm feeling rather excited though.

Reflected light

Watching the TV last night I noticed the way the light from the screen hit my feet.

Breakfast today

Today's green smoothie for 2 was:
450ml almond milk
1 banana
2 oranges
2 cups pineapple
2 cups kale
ice
Delicious.

Waiting to hear

an image submitted in my portfolio

Not sure if I want to know the outcome or not, but I have submitted my portfolio for consideration for a BA (Hons) Graphics Design at Farnborough University Centre.  Will be disappointed if they say no, but very scared if they say yes, submit your application.  Then I really have to think about if I have the time to do it, and if I can overcome my inner voice telling me I'm too old.

A new direction, a new obsession

This is the first post of my new blog. I am going to use it to document subjects I am interested in and what I have learned. It will be be slicker and more minimalist in its design, and therefore much nicer to look at than a blog I had previously which was to showcase my art and craft creations.

I am interested in too many things. Something sparks my interested and I become almost obsessed with finding out as much information as I can on the subject. Some of these obsession have been: photography (I'm still interested but the obsession has worn off), Project Life, yoga, bookbinding, knitting, crochet.

Unfortunately, writing was never my forte so I don't suppose anything I have to say will be very thrilling to anyone but me.  But it's me I'm doing it for so that's all right.

Will blogging become my new obsession?  Let's see where this takes us...
